Visitors!

Well, I just realized that I did not post anything on Sunday. I am now 16 weeks. There really isn’t anything new… we have another doctor’s appointment on Thursday and I am sure that we will schedule another sonogram then for the 20 week one. I do think that Dennis will finally get to go to one of the doctor’s appointments.

It was a great weekend. Amber and Ryan, friends from collage came up and spent the weekend with us. I was so glad to see them. It is hard to make time to see each other when we live 2 ½ hours away! I am trying to plan a weekend in December for Dennis and I to go see them in Kansas City… and that is my favorite time of year to go to KC anyway!

I am working nights this weekend. I don’t mind them, it is just so hard to stay awake. Today or yesterday for all the rest of you, I only slept until 11:30 so 4 ½ hours is just not enough for me. Dennis is so sweet in trying to stay quiet for me while I try to get more sleep. I did manage to get another hour and a half before coming in but for me, I like to get at least a full 8 hours of sleep. So, it is only 2:30 and I am already prying my eyes open. 911 calls help me stay awake though….

Week 15

Since I am off on Sunday, the start of week 15 I guess I will post today. I just read that the baby is 12 centimeters from head to rump. I had to get out the ruler to be fully impressed. That is one big baby for not having me look big yet! It is growing toenails and blinks now too, as well as sucking its thumb. I believe that Dennis and I have decided not to do the AFP test that tells you what the chances are of having a child with Down’s Syndrome. I figure that when Nikki did it she had a 1:400 chance of Trenton having Down’s Syndrome and to me that isn’t a high chance. It just isn’t worth going through all that worry of the baby’s health when we can deliver in Sabetha even if something does come up positive.

Dennis is still chopping. I keep thinking that the time should be running out on this all the time. I guess that it has just been the same old same old with us again this week. I went to some garage sales on Friday evening with Dottie. The one thing I was really wanting was a car seat for Dennis truck. It is a much older one and I am sure there are many thing wrong with it but I figure that the most he will be taking our kids to is day care and his parents’ house and back. Any farther and we will take my car. I am going to go to a few more in the morning and hope to get a few more things. I would really like to get a high chair. In my dream world I would have found a crib and changing table but like I said, that is my dream world. Dennis has worn off of me quite a bit. We are all about used cheap things… as long as they are okay for our kids to use. I am not sure if my neck is out of place or just has knots in my neck, but it hurts so bad. I am going to go to church on Sunday and get a massage from Tara after.

As far as the request for a picture of a baby bump… you may have to wait until I get a baby bump. Sorry guys! I have taken a few pictures but they are pretty close to before baby pictures so I will post one in a few weeks when it is noticeable.

Time Flys

Week 14! I really can’t believe how fast this is all going. I do believe that this week I have gotten bigger. I read that baby is the size of your fist now. I was even more excited to find out that Tara’s maternity clothes fit too. I do love shopping but love saving money even more so VERY exciting that I will not have to spend money on anything that I will get to wear only a few times so, thank you girls!! As far as what baby has been doing, well, baby has been making Mom know that it is growing! It is as if I can feel my stomach growing and stretching. I know this is only going to get worse but oh well it will all be worth it!

Not much has really changed with Dennis. He is now chopping Sorgo (not sure how to spell that). He has been having more days off of chopping. This has been nice for around the house. The yard finally was mowed or mini chopped… Dennis’s newest invention.

Today Lacy, Mom and I are going to make spaghetti sauce. I am so ready to be done with garden stuff. I swear those peppers just keep coming! We probably have more than 200 habaneras left just waiting to turn orange. Kent, Trenton and Madi come over today and Madi decided to help and by helping I really mean eating the bell peppers I was picking. I love it so funny, she eats them like an apple. Those kids are welcome at my house anytime! I got to spend the day with Tara on Monday, that was a lot of fun, I don’t get to see her very often so it was fun.

2nd trimester

Welcome 2nd trimester! Baby is 13 weeks today. I am getting more and more excited. Baby doesn’t know it but he or she has bedding picked out. If anyone gets board you can look on Target.com and check out our registry. We are going for the safari themed room. If we can only get a room for baby now. Baby should be the size of a peach now! Tuesday we had our 12 week check up. I had drank a coffee before going in so baby was all over the place. Baby’s heartbeat was quiet and far away and then it got loud only for about five seconds. Because of this, the doctor could only get the reading for a short bit. It was reading in the 150’s. So it is still a high reading.

Dennis spent the week chopping away. He was in Falls City for a few days and somehow we managed to escape the rain so he could finish. Finally this week he will have a few days off. I am hoping getting the yard mowed is on the top of his list of things to do. As I left for work today Noah and Burke came over to help Dennis with this chore.

I found out that Katie has ringworm. It isn’t too bad but it is really gross and it is on her nose and under mouth. I am really hoping that she doesn’t give it to me. Reading about it, it sounds easy to go from human to animal and visa versa. So I need to clean out her kennel this week on my day off and spray it with bleach water. I was also informed that the purple field of weeds the other day is really the alfalfa that turns purple and not weeds at all. Okay, so I still have quite a bit of city in me but what can you do? I was thrilled to death to find out that Angela’s maternity pants fit me. Although I don’t think I will need them for a while, it is nice to know that there are dress pants that fit! This next week is working nights and just cleaning up around the house. I am still looking forward to having more energy and less hunger.
