More baby stuff

Baby's 'room' is getting nearer to being done. Yes, there is one letter missing as we still are quite unsure what it will be. Dennis thought I was spelling out the whole name so he was quite confused when there was an M and D on the wall. Silly guy, I didn't want to waste THAT much money on not knowing her first name! Although, that would be adorable! I took the same yarn that I wrapped the letters in and braided it for a good place for all her bows and barrettes. That is the long funny looking thing next to the diaper holder.

The diaper holder, I never used with Will but since we are cloth diapering, I figure it may be easier. You may also notice the packages of disposables next to the un-put-together crib. I have no idea how long it will take me to get into a routine with having two kids and getting into the habit of doing laundry every night so, I will use disposables for the first few weeks of her life.

In this picture, her clothes were in the dryer, so they are now all clean and put away!! Very exciting to have all this stuff done.

I think that with Will, I was starting to pack for the hospital at about 34 weeks not knowing when I would go into labor. Now knowing that I will more than probably cook this girl until she is well done, I'm not too worried about it. I may just wait until the crib is put together so there is a place to put the suit case.

Another thing that I will have to do to the crib after it is put together is wrap a soft blanket or something around the leg to avoid the stubbed toes. This next weekend Dennis and I will have a little dinner date with some friends in Manhattan to get their crib mattress that they are kind enough to let us have!

Lastly, another picture update. I took this this morning so I am 33 weeks and one day. I'm not sure where this girl is hiding because I think I look kinda tiny! I feel huge but I don't think I look like I have 7 weeks left. I know being so tall she has lots of room to hide, even being a big girl she will not fully show her huge self until the last several weeks.

P.S. I got my results back from the re-test I had to take for my urine and all looks great so nothing to worry about!!!

Thanks Tara!

A while back, my beautiful sister, Tara made some Dulce De Leche and gave me one! I'm glad she did. It is so very tasty! I think it would be amazing in some coffee... This time however, I decided to put it in something else. Ya, your right, cupcakes. Who would think I would do something else?

I made a basic spice cake (although I added all my good stuff and made the box cake taste pretty amazing!) Because the Dulce De Leche was so thick I thought I needed to thin it out a bit. I added just a little milk, but I think I added a little too much because it just went all threw out the cupcake. Not that that was a bad thing by any means.
Once filled, I added a cream cheese frosting. There was another item I was wanting to try out that I had received as a gift. It's a frosting plunger thing (I'm not sure what the actual name is...) that I got for Christmas. It seems pretty cool really but I think my cream cheese frosting was too thick and it wouldn't come out the tip.

I am excited to try this frosting plunger thing out again on some butter cream and see how it works. I know from others that say they love it, it will be a pretty cool thing once I know how to use it and with what kind of frosting.

Ta-Da! Pretty darn tasty cupcakes! At least that is what my taste testers, Will and Dennis seemed to think. I do have a little of the Dulce De Leche left in the fridge at home and I'm very excited to try it in some coffee!!!

32 1/2 weeks with Baby #2!

Less than seven weeks left before this baby will make an appearance into the world. We are so very excited to meet her! At this appointment earlier today, I am proud that I only gained 1lb! That leaves me at 28lbs up. I told my doctor about all the Braxton Hicks contractions I have been having lately. Last week I know I had about 15 by noon when I was working day shift. I thought that if they didn't slow down then I would make a call into my doctor and see what she thought. Because of the amount I had been having, she wanted to check just to make sure that they were not doing the job of real contractions. Luckily, they are indeed just the annoying Braxton Hicks contractions, and not making any change.

I was measuring 33 1/2cm and that is great. She is also head back down!! Very good thing for that. Her brother will just have to walk a lot more so that he doesn't sit on her and flip her over again...

A little different thing happened too, my blood pressure was a bit high for me. It was 107/88. I normally am lower than 110/mid 60's. So the bottom number is something to keep an eye out for I guess. With the blood pressure being a little high, and finding just a little protein in my urine, it made my doctor want to keep an extra eye on things. So, I have to give another urine sample by Friday to check the protein levels. She thought it may be because I was a little dehydrated. When I work nights, I wake up at and eat a bowl of cereal (this day it was noonish) and then I had just a little soda on the way to my appointment. So, not much to drink at all. I knew I was dehydrated so lets hope that is the reason for the protein. I have been ordered to drink a lot more water. For some reason, this is hard for me to do!!

I go back in two weeks for a few tests and blood work to go along with my normal check up appointment. The tests are the Group B Strep test, nothing big, just a swab check to see if I have it, if I do then I have to get anti biotic during labor. I was negative with Will so I'm sure that I will be again but if so, no biggie. I will get some blood drawn and I'm not sure what they will check with this besides my platelet numbers to see if I am good to get an epidural. I wasn't ever worried about that with Will as I am not this time either... Although, I better be able to get one of those things!!

Next time I wright an update on Baby #2, I will be almost 35 weeks along. Can you believe that? And here I thought that Will's pregnancy went fast. Now my baby is almost two years old.

On a side note, I told him he was almost TWO and I said it funny with my two fingers out. Now he has started to go "TWO" but instead of having his fingers in the V shape, he has them crossed. It's pretty cute, I need to get a video of that one and put it up here.

Baby decor...

Since the baby will be sharing a room with us, she doesn't have much for her own decorations. I did finally join the pintrest madness and saw something like this. I thought they were cute and would look great hanging above her crib. I took down the picture that we had there and have yet to hang anything but it will come. Since we are still unsure on her first name, I will show you her other initials, Margaret Deters. The first name is up to two names and we will decide once she is born what she looks like. (Pretty sure I know what it will be but the option is still there.)

Visit to Pet Land

"I want this one, Mom!"

Will did keep going back to the beagle but we got out the puppy that Grandma and I liked best! The so adorable Cocker Spaniel. She was the sweatest little girl and very new.

Will 'hugging' the puppy. I did my best at protecting the poor thing from strangulation but Will just LOVED playing with the puppy!

Checking out all the other cute puppies! I'm so glad that we took the time to go to Petland with Will. I think I will have to try to make time to do this once in a while, just Will and me.

Big Brother in Training.

Will is really getting the hang of this big brother thing... At least he's trying. For a couple of days now, he will carry his baby doll around and just rock her and be a good brother. I don't remember what it was he was doing but it made me think he was trying to feed her. So, I asked if he was going to give her a bottle. He got up, walked to the kitchen and stood to where we keep the bottles (not yet cleaned for baby but out and ready), just stood there and pointed. I gave him what he wanted, a bottle.

He has since then been rocking her and feeding her like a big brother should. Since he was doing this, I taught him how to burp the baby after she is done feeding. It's so flipping cute at how he treats this doll. His Dad and I know for sure he will be a great big brother. He's very excited to have a baby sister.

Just so cute!! I'm not sure what made him put Dennis' shirt on like this but he did. He put his head threw the arm hole.

Addicted?

I really don't think that I have an addiction but I just couldn't resist buying this diaper! Look how stinking cute it is!! There was actually a girly one up there that I really wanted but since this brand fits bigger kids, I figured that Will could wear this one as his night time diaper and one of the tighter fitting ones could go to his sister.

Seriously, so flipping cute!!
